Calls were today made for a guns amnesty in the wake of Monday's fatal shooting in the city.
Bradford West MP Marsha Singh said the time was right for another weapons hand-in campaign because the public demanded it.
"It may well be time for another amnesty, if that is what it takes," he said.
Mr Singh said he would be asking Tony Blair directly at Prime Minister's Question Time in the House of Commons today just what is being done to combat gun crime.
He said the murder of Tasawar Hussain was a "tragic waste of life".
"In terms of what he did you can't describe him as anything else than a hero in today's world," he said.
"It shows how dangerous it is to be public spirited. It cost him his life and his wife and children have lost a husband and a father."
Councillor Amir Hussain (Lab, Toller) said planned changes to gun laws must be tougher.
"I think the Home Secretary really needs to look at the legislation again," he said. "Otherwise, we are going to see the kind of gun warfare there is in America here on the streets of Bradford."
Terry Rooney, MP for Bradford North, said he was also appalled by the crime and admitted there had been "far too many" gun crimes in the city.
