SIXTEEN-year-old Ilkley Grammar School student Adam Skeet visited York - and came back with his head shaved. He had decided to take part in a world head shaving record attempt all in the name of charity.
The event itself was held at a York shopping centre and attracted many willing volunteers.
They were needed because the record of 156 heads in four hours by five hairdressers was broken.
Adam himself raised a worthy sum of £350 for Leukaemia Research, Candlelighters and The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
Altogether the charities are hoping to raise £20,000.
