Bradford Bulls have sent stand-off Chris Bridge to Huddersfield on a month's loan.

The Giants will throw the Academy international straight into their team to play Leeds Rhinos in tonight's Darren Turner testimonial match at the McAlpine Stadium.

Odsal spokesman Stuart Duffy said: "We feel it will give him the opportunity for some first-team experience.

"We've got very high hopes for Chris. He's got a lot of talent and we think he will be a big success.

"But at the moment we feel it is more beneficial for him to be playing senior football."

Bridge joined the Bulls from Huddersfield last year after a league tribunal declared him a free agent and only last week he was handed a four-year contract and a place in their Super League squad.

But his chances of regular Super League football at Odsal appear limited, and Giants chief executive Ralph Rimmer said: "This is a chance for both us and the Bulls to look at him in first-team action."

Bridge will be on the bench tonight - alongside the club's latest signing Darren Fleary, the former Great Britain prop who will be facing the team he left only a month ago.

Huddersfield also include other close-season recruits Anthony Colella, Julian Bailey, Jarrod O'Doherty, Jim Gannon, Jamie Bloem, Matt Calland and former Bull Brandon Costin.
