A founder member of Keighley Naturalist Society, Mrs Clare Harrison, has died aged 95.
During her time with the organisation - formed in 1944 - she held various posts including lecture secretary and committee member, and for 35 years was the botanical recorder.
She was also a contributor to the West Yorkshire Plant Atlas, published by Bradford Council in 1994.
Mrs Harrison was born, into a family of 12, at Slack Lane Farm. She gained a Keighley Grammar School scholarship, and throughout her working life was employed as a cashier with local companies.
She had attended Slack Lane Baptist Church, Oakworth, from the age of three, and was its treasurer for 20 years, until 1970.
Her funeral service, conducted by the Rev Allen Holmes, was held at the church yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Mrs Harrison, a widow, was a resident at Hawkstone Towers nursing home in Keighley.
