AN internet caf facility has opened in Hellifield's Village Well community centre, known as Surf and Slurp.
Every Monday and Wednesday between 10am and 12noon Village Well's computers will be available for members of the public to use.
Committee member Steven Lord came up with the internet caf idea and will be on hand at the sessions to provide help.
For just £1 an hour users can surf the internet, use e-mail facilities and enjoy a cup of tea.
Village Well, which opened just three months ago, is now busy with drop-in sessions, relaxation and complementary therapies, a parents group and computing for beginners classes.
Yoga classes are due to start in February and are already oversubscribed, along with the computing classes.
Individuals donated the centre's four machines making the computer classes and internet caf possible.
Other activities due to start soon include outdoor and walking groups, a needlework group, art and craft group, games club and advice sessions. A mental health support group is also planned.

A website will also be launched at www.villagewell.org.uk
