Silsden Under-14s A got the better of hard working Bingley side and went on to take a 3-1 victory. Dam Dowgill opened the scoring and Luke Scott headed home the second from a John Butcher corner. Ross Croad made the game safe and man of the match Butcher was well supported by Jonas Bartle, Charles Clegg, Williams Maisey and Gian Luca Consoli.
On Sunday they take on Wakefield side Thorne in the quarter final of the West Riding Cup, kick-off 1.30pm
Silsden Under-8s A secured a 1-1 draw at Gomersal. Man of the match Christopher Wademan scored the vital goal for Silsden and was also their man of the match.
Silsden Under-11s B beat Otley 2-0 after a very entertaining game. They were 1-0 up at the break thanks to a superb goal from Woods and Golson scored in the second period to secure victory. Banks was man of the match.
Silsden Under 7's suffered a 4-1 defeat away at Bingley in their first game after the Christmas break. The only positives were a goal from man of the match Jack Leach in the second half and a strong defensive display by Jack Roberts to keep the score down.
Silsden Under-10 Juniors had mixed fortunes against local rivals Sutton. On a very heavy pitch the Silsden B-team played some lovely passing moves to beat Sutton B 6-1. Goals were scored by Jake Ingham (3), Jack Price (2) and Joe Healey (1). The man of the match award went to Jack Price and Jake Ingham.
Silsden Under-10s A were held to a 0-0 draw by Sutton. The Sutton keeper was on top form and managed to stop everything the Silsden strikers could throw at them. Calum Harrison was man of the match.
Oakworth Under-10s A team beat Otley 5-1 after a first half strikes from Ross Wilson and Joe Mitchell gave them a healthy 2-0 lead at the break. They played superb passing football in the second half with further goals coming from Matt Moore, Tom Hudson and Joe Foster. Joe Alvey was man of the match for his hard work in midfield.
Oakworth Under-10s B regained their form with a convincing 10-0 win over Nab Wood thanks to a superb team effort. They were leading 5-0 at the break and changed their formation completely for the second period, but the goals continued to flow. Scorers were Thomas Kerr (3), James Smith (2), Greig Hudson, Chris Lynch, Luke Chapman, Nick Foster and Jonny Greenwood.
Oakworth Under-16s B defeated Bolton Woods 6-1 in a one-sided game. Goals came from Martin Termaine, Ben Manning, Stuart Burns, Joe Dunn, Eddie Hall, and Jack Emmott.This victory maintains the Oaks unbeaten run in 2003. The man of the match award was shared by Martin Termaine, Ben Manning, and Matthew Masters.
Long Lee Under-11s extended their lead at the top of the table with a 5-0 win over Sedbergh. Myrosh Allen opened the scoring and Craig Donegan made it 2-0 with a chip over the keeper. They stepped up the tempo after the break with 'super sub' Josh Huntley scoring a hat-trick. Craig Donegan was named man of the match.
Sutton Rascals Under-9s secured a 3-2 victory over Queensbury. They were 1-0 at the break thanks to a goal from Jack Harrison and the Queensbury keeper denied them more. The second half produced two goals for Queensbury and two more for the Rascals with Luke Jackson and Daniel Appleby scoring one each. Midfielder Luke Fleetwood was man of the match.
Sutton Rascals Under-8s B team secured their first win of the new year against Oakworth Under-8s B team. They won 1-0 and the scorer was man of the match Harry Eastbury, the goal came 10 minutes into the second half. It was a fighting performance from Sutton with Matthew Wiseman leading well in defence, other good performances came from William Storey and Harry Tosney.
Long Lee Under-17s had back to back fixtures with Eccleshill United, in the home fixture Long Lee dominated the game throughout, but had to come from behind as Eccleshill scored twice on the break. Long Lee replied with three goals from Graham Holmes and were then in total control until the final whistle.
In the return fixture Long Lee were without three regulars, so with a reshuffled team and playing into the wind on a poor pitch, it was no surprise they were two goals behind at half time. Long Lee replied with a goal just three minutes into the second half scored by Graham Holmes, they were now winning the ball in midfield and creating many chances. Just as it looked as it was not to be Long Lee's day, John Robertson cut in on the left wing and struck the ball into the corner of the net. Long Lee attacked at every opportunity, and with just seconds left Danny Finn stabbed home the ball to give the team a well deserved win.
Long Lee remain unbeaten this season and on Sunday play Bolton Woods who also have a unbeaten record.
Long Lee Under-12s made heavy weather of their 1-1 draw with Shipley Juniors. Keeper Dan Pickles was a spectator for most of the game as the Keighley side bombarded the Shipley goal, but poor finishing and fine keeping by Shipley kept them at bay. Sam Rooke was Long Lee's scorer with Joe Park and Daniel Moses also having solid games.
Long Lee Under-14s got back to winning ways and kept their title hopes alive with a 4-1 win at Otley. Calum Flaherty and Ross Bailey scored two each to seal the win, with a solid debut performance from Chris Joy.
Lond Lee Under-14 girls ran out 10-3 winners on a difficult pitch at Shipley. Bernie O'Horo was on target with five with Rachel Houldsworth and Lucy Smail grabbing two each. Sophie Taylor and Elisa Todd kept any Shipley threat at bay with Lyndsey Bradley working hard in midfield. Long Lee's final goal was scored by Kirsty Palmer.
Long Lee Girls Under-10s played some fine passing football to gain a 5-0 win at Shipley. Goals came from Emma Bradley (2), Rebecca Riley (2) and Chloe Dodds, Kellie Anderson was outstanding in defence and special mention should also go to Briony Park, Luca Dodds, Faye Palmer and Nicole Narey who all contributed to a fine all-round performance in only their second competitive game.
Oakworth Juniors soccer camp Under-7s boys played their first game last Saturday, a friendly match against Sutton, and Oaks ran out 11-0 winners, to earn the congratulations of their coach.
