Alan Combe is still City's number one summer target despite yesterday's capture of Danish keeper Stefan Magnusson.

The 22-year-old has signed on loan from Farum for the rest of the season as cover for Aidan Davison.

But Combe remains the top priority once his contract runs out at Dundee United.

City chairman Gordon Gibb said: "The Combe situation is on-going. Alan has made it perfectly obvious Bradford is his club of choice.

"He still has a lot of fans down here and has given us a clear 'come and get me' plea. But we feel the best time to do that is in the summer when he is out of contract.

"Dundee United have two exceptionally good keepers of Scottish Premier League standard at the club, Alan and Paul Gallacher.

"They rate them absolutely equally which means that although the other chap is in the team, if he slips up or gets injured then it's felt Alan would come in and make the position his own."

Combe could be recalled to face Motherwell tomorrow - his first Dundee United game since December 2000.

Former City winger Ian McCall became the third Tannadice boss this season on Thursday and is considering a change in goal.

He said: "Every player will get a chance. I note that the goalkeeper hasn't played here for two years but I remember him as an excellent player."

Andy Tod has been assured about his position under the new manager after signing on loan - two days before Paul Hegarty was axed.
