Peace vigils are being held in Bradford from today during the Iraq crisis.
They will take place each fortnight at St Paul's Church in Shipley.
The first vigil - a time of prayer and peace - was due to take place today from 9.30am to 10am.
Organiser the Reverend Colin Penfold said: "The vigils are open to Christians of all traditions and anyone else who shares a concern for peace in the Middle East, whatever their political views. They will be led by representatives of various member-churches of Shipley Churches Together."
Tomorrow there will be a Vigil of Prayer for Peace at St John's Church, Cullingworth, at 6pm. Candles will be available for people to light and there will be some music, quiet singing, and a chance for people to offer theirs prayers silently or aloud.
At Keighley Shared Church, Church Green, there will be prayer vigils for peace every Monday during the crisis, from 1pm to 1.30pm.
