Objections to an application for a holiday caravan rally between July and August on land close to residential property at the top of The Drive, Ben Rhydding, Ilkley, are to be made by the Parish Council. The council is to inform Bradford Council that it appeared the site did not comply with requirements of the policy for the location and siting of holiday and touring caravans.

Bradford's new reception centre for homeless or uncared for children at Springfield, Duckworth Lane - completed at a cost of £20,000 - was opened today by the Lord Mayor (Ald John Shee). Planned before the war, the centre is the first in the country to be built for this purpose. It will accommodate 26 children, and the rooms are so arranged that families can be kept together.
