The first-ever winter steam gala held on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway was a runaway success.
More than 3,000 people made tracks at the weekend for the five-mile line.
Railway spokesman Roger France said: "Our first winter steam gala was held during what is traditionally a quiet time of the year, and we were snowed under - not by the weather, but with people telling us what an excellent day out it was.
"With seven superb steam locomotives, lots of historic coaches, and country branch line stations seen on TV, it was our busiest gala for several years and we received many compliments from visitors."
Next week, during the school half-term holiday, steam trains will be running daily, and on March 22 and 23 children's favourite Thomas is making a return visit.
The railway's starring TV roles continue this weekend, when scenes recorded at Oakworth feature in ITV1's new 1960s-based hospital drama The Royal.
