A 54-year-old father, who was viciously attacked in a Shipley back street, remained in a critical but stable condition in hospital today.
Terence Capper, of Baildon suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries in the assault in Dale Street, Shipley, on Friday.
He was found unconscious and lying in a pool of blood in a parking bay near Jimmy's Gym at about 6.30pm.
Mr Capper, who works for Filtronic in Saltaire and has a daughter and son, is being treated in the intensive care unit at Leeds General Infirmary. His wife, Maureen, was keeping a vigil at his bedside.
A 52-year-old Shipley man was arrested on Saturday evening in connection with the incident. He was released on police bail on Sunday pending further inquiries.
