A jeweller today offered a £10,000 reward for help in catching robbers who kidnapped his manager at gunpoint and looted their Bradford business.

His appeal came after the "ruthless and professional" gang broke into his worker's house, viciously battered him with baseball bats and put a gun to his wife's head, threatening to kill her.

They then bound and gagged the couple, bundled them into a car in their underwear and drove them to MI Jewellers in Manningham before ransacking the premises for thousands of pounds worth of goods.

Today, the victim said he was still living in fear and may give up his job while his wife had become a 'recluse' after the nightmare ordeal.

And Sajid Iqbal, pictured, who owns the White Abbey Road firm, said: "These are ruthless people who need to be taken off the streets. If they strike again they could kill."

His 26-year-old manager, who is still too frightened to be named, was awoken by four armed men in the bedroom of his house in Tanner Brook Close, Clayton, at around 2am on Friday. The masked intruders put guns to the couple's heads and threatened to kill them and 'dump them on the moors'.

The terrified pair were tied up with tape, tags and handcuffs before the 22-year-old was thrown into the boot of their BMW while her husband had a bag pulled over his head and was bundled into the back seat.

The robbers then drove to the business in White Abbey Road, unlocked the door using his keys and looted tens of thousands of pounds of jewellery.

The pair were left tied up in the car, to be rescued later by a neighbour, as the gang escaped in another vehicle.

The manager suffered a gash to his head, a fractured arm and broken fingers. He was fearful he may lose use of his arm.

He said: "I was absolutely terrified and I still am now.

"I was sure that we were both going to die."

He added: "I don't think I can go on working at the shop after what happened.

"My wife is living like a recluse. She is too frightened to step out of the bedroom."

Mr Iqbal, 46, was asleep in a flat above the shop throughout the robbery.

Today he stumped up the £10,000 reward for information and said: "These people need to be taken off the streets straight away. They are extremely ruthless and if they are allowed to do this again, I believe they could easily kill someone.

"This was a well-organised and professional attack.

"They must have been watching the manager for some time to know that he had the keys."

And the manager revealed how he had been the victim of an attempted kidnapping two weeks earlier but managed to break free.

Detectives are currently hunting four men in connection with the incident. They believe one was Asian and another spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.
