A 44-year-old woman was mugged as she took rubbish to a wheelie bin outside her Baildon home.
The woman had just returned home to Hoyle Court Road at 6.15pm on Thursday and was standing by the bin when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
Detective Chief Inspector Roger Gasson of Keighley police said as she turned round a man grabbed at her shoulder bag and she fell to the ground.
She suffered grazing, bruising and shock.
The robber is described as white, aged about 18, 5ft 8ins, with dark hair and brown eyes.
He wore a woolly hat and a bomber jacket.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to telephone Keighley police on (01535) 617083.
