Keighley rock singer-songwriter Don Gaudiosi (pictured) has put back his planned album Streets of Gold by at least six months.

The 14-track CD was due to be released last month to tie-in with a series of live appearances by Don's band Hush.

He has dropped two acoustic tracks from the album and will add two new songs due to be recorded this May.

The album features the fruits of recording sessions by Hush over the past four years, including three CD singles.

Don says this year he will not stage his annual charity concert at Victoria Hall, preferring to concentrate on the album.

Instead Hush will perform at a social night next month in aid of cancer patients. Tickets have already sold out.

Don will record his new songs with musicians Ian Wilkinson, Andy Sale, Pete Kaberry and Jake Newiss.

Hush plays its pop-rock originals and covers at the Coniston, Idle (tonight) and at the Morris Dancer, Colne (February 22).

n Keighley band Random Hand makes its hometown debut tonight with a gig at Victoria Hotel. Three months of rehearsals have culminated in a support slot with Ironstorm and Brand New Analogues.

Ironstorm promises a "full-on metal night" because it's guitarist Simon's birthday.

Random Hand's members include Joe Tilston, former Nosebone musician and leading light of local music web site www.noseboard.net.

He says: "We have jumped in at the deep end and are doing a string of gigs over the next few months over the North."

The band will be recording in March, and the following month will play Bradford Rio with Fine Apple. Meanwhile, Ironstorm play the Empress, in Bradford, on February 22 with support from two other bands.

The guys will be back at the Vic, in Keighley, on April 26 for another metalfest. "Ears will bleed that night!" promises singer Mick Walsh.

Ironstorm, Random Hand and Brand New Analogues -- which includes members of Soulfish -- perform tonight at the Vic, in Cavendish Street.

n Skipton band Foruta headlines a gig at the Victor Wardman pub, Low Mill Lane, Keighley, on Thursday. Support comes from Leeds bands DumFlux and Misled Vision. The gig starts at 7.30pm and admission is £3.

n Cockersdale, popular purveyors of traditional tunes, are no strangers to Keighley's Bacca Pipes Folk Club.

One of the members returns with his son to perform tonight from 8.30pm, at the club's base in Keighley Ukrainian Club.

The next two Friday evenings are singers' nights. Phone 01535 605310 for details.
