A BIG apology from me to our terrific supporters who made the trip to Sheffield last week.

Once again the Cougar Army 'out voiced' their opposite numbers.

They certainly won the battle on the terraces, but I'm afraid we didn't do them justice on the field, even though the Eagles had to rely on that last minute goal to snatch the win.

I'm sure there will be another big crowd for Sunday's game, the Batley fans always turn out in force for a trip to Keighley.

Let's hope we can silence the Bulldogs both on and off the pitch.

I HAVE to admit that I was feeling down in the dumps on Monday morning following Sunday's game.

I bought the rugby league papers as usual and was stunned to read about the two young Wigan players who were killed in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Nineteen-year-old stand-off Billy Joe Edwards, brother of former Wigan and Great Britain legend Shaun Edwards and 18-year-old hooker Craig Johnson the younger brother of Wigan and GB centre Paul Johnson.

I couldn't imagine how the families of these two youngster were feeling and losing a game of rugby suddenly seemed very insignificant indeed. I'm sure everyone will join me in sending our condolences to the players' families and to everyone at the Wigan club.

I WONDERED why Paul Moses was in such a good mood on Sunday morning as we met to travel to Sheffield.

We boarded the bus and Mossy was running up and down the aisle, doing backflips - and making everyone cups of coffee (not like him at all).

He was grinning like a Cheshire cat and we were really worried, until David 'Farmer' Marshall, our groundsman and kitman, revealed that Burnley had bounced back from their 5-2 defeat by Reading with a 1-0 away win at Coventry.

I hope the Clarets continue their winning ways, it's great being waited on hand and foot. Travelling to London Skolars should be a real treat - just one sugar Mossy!
