A new six million dollar film about American servicemen stationed in Britain during the 1939-45 war will begin location work in the Keighley and Bradford areas in April. Its title is Yanks and the script is by Colin Welland, one of Britain's most illustrious dramatists. It will be directed by the now world famous John Schlesinger, who was last in Bradford in the 1960s when he directed Bily Liar.

A stained glass window in memory of the 13 former members of the Church Lads' Brigade at St Wilfrid's Church, Lidget Green, Bradford, who gave their lives in the last war, has been unveiled and dedicated by the Venerable G. F. Townley, Archdeacon of York, at an afternoon service. The company was founded by Canon Townley during his period as Vicar of St Wilfrid's from 1927 to 1932.
