Jamie Peacock will be out for up to two months with a broken hand.
The Bulls second-rower cracked his right hand during the 82-0 victory over Hunslet in the Challenge Cup fifth round on Sunday and went under the surgeon's knife earlier this week.
He will now struggle to return in time for the Challenge Cup final, should the Bulls get there, on April 26 and is also likely to miss the important home game against Hull the week before.
His is not the only injury in the camp and the Bulls could be without a number of key personnel for Sunday's Home-coming clash with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at Odsal with skipper Robbie Paul (neck) and giant prop Paul Anderson (dead leg) having fitness tests later this week.
But coach Brian Noble, who had to begin the season without the services of Michael Withers and Tevita Vaikona, believes his squad is strong enough to cope with the absence of players of Peacock's ability.
"We have a lot of quality players and I believe there are people here who can come in and do a job," said Noble, who was faced with a number of injury-related selection headaches throughout last season.
"Of course, losing a player like Jamie is a blow but we have a big squad here and I know that I can call upon anyone in it to step up and they will be able to do so.
"We have the likes of Jamie Langley, Richard Moore and Stuart Reardon who will get their chance at some stage and I have no problems about handing anyone in the squad a start."
