Brownies from across Keighley went back to school at the weekend to learn interesting new skills.

Around 220 youngsters from across Keighley district converged on Oakbank School for the annual Brownies Interest Day.

During the day the Brownies had the pick of 14 different activities to choose from, ranging from aerobics, painting and flower arranging to fire safety and first aid.

Divisional commissioner Vera Redman said: "It was an absolutely great day and it was fantastic to see so many Brownies from throughout the Keighley area enjoying themselves.

"The aim of the day was to get the girls to do something different from what they normally would, and hopefully learn some useful skills.

"We asked different people to come and hold the sessions and we had an excellent response, with the likes of Keighley College and Keighley fire station holding different classes."

The interest day has become a popular fixture in the Brownie calendar and has been running for more than 15 years.
