A licensee was stabbed in the stomach following an argument in a Keighley town centre pub on Sunday.

Kevin Maddox, 46, was attacked in the Cavendish Hotel, Cavendish Street, at around 6.30pm as he tried to eject members of the public from the bar.

Det Insp Trevor Gasson said: "There were some attempts to eject some customers from the pub, which started the fracas that then progressed to this incident.

"We would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to come forward."

The injured man was taken to Airedale Hospital for treatment to the wound and was detained for observation. He was released on Tuesday
