Pink Floyd performs one of its renowned live shows in Haworth this month ... but not exactly!

In reality fans will be watching the acclaimed tribute band Off the Wall as one of its members plays a rare home-town gig.

Musician Paul Barker is also a Conservative politician representing the Worth Valley area on Bradford Council.

Paul and his fellow Floydsters are playing on March 15 as part of Haworth's Fairtrade Fortnight.

The fortnight -- part of a national celebration -- marks the recent granting of Fairtrade status to shops in the village.

Fairtrade aims to give producers in developing countries a chance to sell their goods in the West at fair prices.

Off The Wall is donating most of its profits from the show at Haworth Community Centre to the Fairtrade charity.

"The size of the venue means we will be able to put on a much bigger show than people have seen us do in this area," says Paul.

"All the members are top-class musicians who have worked incredibly hard to, not just create exact copies of the original songs, but inject their own energies.

"While still clearly recognisable, the music contains things that take the audience beyond the experience of just listening to a record."

Paul says his band tries to do justice to the spectacular nature of the original Pink Floyd shows.

He says: "A moving light show and two projectors fill the back of the stage with stunning imagery."

Such attention to detail saw Off The Wall rise rapidly in popularity during a national tour last year.

The gigs culminated in a spectacular outdoor concert at Halifax Piece Hall attended by more than 2,000 people.

Last month the band played the Harrogate International Centre where it was joined by world-famous sax player Snake Davies.

Off The Wall will play pieces from most Pink Floyd albums, mixing classics and surprises, on March 15.

Tickets cost £8.50 from Sonia's Smile, Main Street, Haworth, or Offshoot Healthfoods, Cavendish Street, Keighley.
