Avenue head to Droylsden tomorrow with boss Trevor Storton hoping his side can complete 90 minutes of football.
Bradford have suffered two abandoned matches in the past week and he is still fuming over the power cut that looks to have robbed his side of three points on Wednesday.
The UniBond League management committee will make a ruling shortly on whether the game, which was abandoned after 84 minutes with Avenue 3-2 ahead, will have to be replayed.
"I think the result should stand," said Storton, whose side led Burscough courtesy of two strikes from Richard Tracey and an Andy Hayward volley before the power cut forced the game to be abandoned.
"We have got through all but six minutes of the game and you would like to think that would be enough for the game to count.
"It is up to the management committee but, for what it is worth, I think that enough of the game was played for us to still get three points."
The footballing Gods looked to be smiling on Avenue last Saturday when, at 2-1 down and with Hayward covering in goal for the injured Jamie Holmshaw, the game was stopped at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch.
Last week's opponents Colwyn Bay were disappointed at the referee's decision, feeling they deserved the points, and that is how Storton feels now that the reverse has happened at the Horsfall Stadium.
Avenue have been involved in only a dozen abandoned matches since the Second World War with Bradford ahead in three of them.
But bizarrely, despite only nine in 57 years, there have now been three in three months, with the Boxing Day clash with Harrogate Town being stopped after 29 minutes when keeper Lutz Pfannenstiel required the kiss of life on the field.
So Avenue head to Droylsden hoping for 90 minutes of football and to keep their winning streak, consisting of two 1-0 victories, alive.
The vagaries of the rules surrounding abandoned games mean two strikes by Richard Tracey, who scored his first two goals since November 20, and Andy Hayward, who scored in both the unfinished games, will not count.
Stand-in keeper Chris Howe, who performed well on his debut after only signing for Avenue 23 hours before Wednesday's kick-off, will remain in goal for the Droylsden game, which Storton is expecting to be a tough encounter.
"It should be quite an open game," added Storton. "They are one of the better sides in the league at the moment. I watched them recently and they are quite a strong side going forward. I am hoping the midfield will keep things a little tighter tomorrow and then we should give ourselves more of a chance."
Avenue reserves take on Accrington Stanley at Horsfall Stadium this evening (7.45). Accrington may include former Avenue players Rory Prendergast and Dean Calcutt.
