A 26-year-old man with mental health problems was killed when he was hit by a train, an inquest heard.
Adrian Bond, of Norman Street, Bingley, died instantly when he was hit by the train, which had been travelling through Kirkstall, Leeds last Saturday. The inquest, which opened at Leeds Coroner's Court yesterday, heard that Mr Bond had been staying at Moor Lane Rehabilitation Centre in Burley-in-Wharfedale, an outreach centre of Airedale Hospital, but had gone missing the day before.
Mr Bond, who had been living with his parents in Bingley, had a history of psychiatric problems and had been admitted to the centre several weeks before his death, the inquest was told.
A post-mortem examination was carried out at Leeds General Infirmary which concluded that Mr Bond had died from multiple injuries after being hit by the train, which had been travelling between 60 and 70 miles per hour.
The inquest was adjourned pending further police inquiries.
