A burglar has been jailed for three-and-a-half years after he was caught red-handed with £4,600 worth of coins and jewellery.
Bradford Crown Court heard how police spotted heroin addict Paul Horner in Smith House Avenue, Brighouse, last December.
When they tried to search him, he became violent but was arrested after a struggle.
He then took the officers to a house that he had burgled in Halifax Road, Brighouse, telling them he broke into the property through a small window.
Items found in his bag included commemorative coins, PlayStation games, earrings, bracelets and diamond and gold rings.
Horner, 26, of Smith House Drive, Brighouse, pleaded guilty to burglary.
Mitigating, Giles Bridge told the court his client had shown remorse and regret for the offence.
Judge Peter Charlesworth said breaking into homes caused enormous distress and upset, often affecting people for years.
