Chris Caisley has hailed the Odsal Homecoming as a "magical day".

The Bradford Bulls chairman was delighted to witness his side's 22-10 victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in a front of a record crowd of 20,283 noisy fans.

"It really has been a magical day," said Caisley after the Bulls overturned an 8-4 half-time deficit to pick up their first Super League points of the season.

"The fans turning up in such great numbers today proved, if proof were needed, that coming back to Odsal was the right move.

"We would like to see a return to the golden days here and it really has been a fantastic homecoming.

"Of course there were teething problems, but that has to be expected on the first day back at stadium where not everyone knows their way around.

"It has been a magnificent day for the Bradford Bulls, although I know we can do a lot better on the pitch."

Karl Pratt capped a man of the match performance by somersaulting over for the first Bulls try back at Odsal as Bradford looked to forget their opening day St Helens defeat.

Wakefield battled hard to spoil the party taking place in front of the largest opening day home crowd in Super League history.

But Lee Gilmour, Shontayne Hape and try-scoring machine Leon Pryce finished off the Wildcats in a tough game that left coach Brian Noble with a large number of players doubtful for Saturday's Challenge Cup quarter-final trip to Widnes.

"We've got a few busted people and we had to juggle a lot of people around," said Noble.

"That made us a little bit disjointed early on but I was really delighted with the enthusiasm shown in the second half.

"In the first half we didn't control the ball enough but we showed an element of toughness in the second because there were two or three busted out there and we only had one fit person on the bench."
