Bradford's Joe Johnson reached the final of the English amateur snooker championship, when he beat Ian Williamson (Leeds) 8-4 at Leeds - and won himself a trip to Malta. He will meet Southern area champion Terry Griffiths of Llanelli at Blackpool on April 13-15. Johnson's win also qualified him to be the English representative in the world amateur snooker championships in Malta in November.

A Jowett Javelin which was missed from a car park in Stead Street, Shipley, last night, and replaced by a Jowett van, was found abandoned in Bradford today and has been returned to its owner, Mr A. D. Milner of Baildon. Mr Milner learnt last night that the van was missing from Bradford and apparantly the vehicles had been switched.
