Jurgen Haeck is coming to England to hijack Junior Witter's dream.
The Belgian defends his European Union light-welter belt against Bradford ace Witter in Manchester on April 5.
It is Witter's final action before he hopes to step in the ring with Ricky Hatton for their Maine Road showdown. But Haeck has his sights set on spoiling the party by snaring the Hitman himself.
Speaking exclusively to the Telegraph & Argus, his manager Jef van Driessche said the 31-year-old intends to be more than just a warm-up act next month.
He said: "We are also looking forward to a fight with Hatton. It is the same objective for both fighters and a win for Jurgen would change everything.
"Going abroad in boxing isn't always favourable and you know you are up against it. But he is coming to England to give a good performance and not just take the money."
Haeck has lost only once in 16 pro fights when he was beaten inside two rounds by world-rated Frenchman Souleymane M'baye last year. But the Belgian suffered a rib injury in the build-up and van Driessche believes that caused the early knock-out.
He added: "Normally Jurgen is an honourable fighter who can take a punch. He is not a big hitter but he can move very well and from what I have seen, I don't think Witter is so good under pressure.
"He is quick but Jurgen has a good eye. He has never met an opponent with the reputation of Junior Witter but I think he can give a good fight."
With Hatton headlining against Vince Phillips, a 20,000 sell-out crowd is guaranteed in the MEN Arena. It will be by far the biggest audience Haeck has fought in front of.
Van Driessche said: "I have been at the venue before when Mike Tyson fought Julius Francis and I know it will be very impressive.
"I think it will inspire Jurgen. We
don't come to England to lose the fight which is unfortunately often the case in boxing.
"I know sparring isn't the same but Jurgen has been in the gym with some very good opposition such as Oktay Urkal (European champion) and Artur Grigorian (WBO lightweight champion).
"Fighting Junior Witter is a huge task but Jurgen will be ready for it. There are shocks in boxing as we saw when Wladimir Klitschko got beaten and we will be giving it everything."
