Otley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club members Emily Gibson from Burley-in-Wharfedale, Debbie Wilson from Beckwithshaw and Deborah Bate from Kirkstall beat off competition from across the UK to win gold in the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Duets and Trios competition.
Competing in the Senior Trios section, Emily, Debbie and Deborah performed a rope and ball routine to become national champions.
The girls all train with the Otley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, under the instruction of Otley's Head Coach, Karen Harper. The Otley Club has a long history of success and is at the forefront of developing the sport of rhythmic gymnastics in Yorkshire.
As well as the success in the Senior Trios, the Otley Junior Trio (Becky Burton of Otley, Annie Pallis of Collingham and Lora Dimova of Shadwell) achieved fifth place with their hoop routine.
Commenting on their performance, Karen Harper said: "We are delighted with these results. The girls have been highly committed and have trained hard. The Juniors will be competing again in the British Group championships on April 5, and we will also be taking an Under-10 group, hoping to build on the success of the older girls.
