Otley RUFC will play host to Bedford on Saturday in a National Division One game. Coming off the back of a home defeat by title chasers Rotherham Bedford sit comfortably in tenth place in the table, 14 points above Otley and with a game in hand.

Otley went down 24-16 at Bedford in November so will be looking to avenge that defeat in this game.

The two clubs were involved in a tight finish to the league two years ago when any one of four clubs could have taken the second relegation spot which eventually fell the way of Orrell.

Andy Brown will miss the game whilst there are doubts about the fitness of Ian Clarke, who has a persistent knee injury, and Phil Greaves, who is struggling with back trouble. The centre has had more than his share of injuries this season making just 11 appearances in the 20 games played.

Otley spokesman John Finch said: "It was interesting to see that Argentinian referee Pablo Deluca caused as much consternation amongst the forwards in the first-half at Murrayfield on Saturday before he had to retire hurt as he did in Otley's match at Manchester the previous week with his interpretations at ruck and maul.

"On reflection it would have been greatly to Otley's advantage if he had lasted only 40 minutes in that game."
