A mystery woman has sparked a security alert at a primary school.
She was reported to have approached three older boys at Low Ash school in Wrose before classes started on Tuesday.
Initial reports suggested she had been posing as a social worker or a health inspector.
But police later said she could have simply been a parent comforting a child and urged her to come forward to allay the fears.
Head teacher Vivien Kirby has now ordered that all children attending after-school clubs should be collected at the main entrance only.
She has sent a letter to all parents reassuring them the incident happened out of school hours and not during school time.
"I have been made aware of the concerns of several parents in connection with rumours of a stranger coming into school when school was in session. I need to confirm this was not true," she wrote.
"Having this single access point will allow us to control and monitor the access to school more securely at the end of the day when there are fewer people around."
A West Yorkshire police spokesman said: "The police support the school and the sending out of an advisory letter to parents. We are looking into the incident and are liaising with the school."
"It is believed the woman may have been a concerned parent who was comforting a distressed pupil in the playground. If this is the case we would ask her to come forward and contact us. There is no suggestion the child was in any danger or any suggestion she was a health visitor or from social services."
