Ilkley U-12s 28, Wetherby 14
Ilkley Under-12s began this match unprepared for the barrage thrown at them by the opposition, and were pinned down on their own five metre line for the first five minutes.
Only superb defensive work from the whole team kept Wetherby at bay. Ilkley soon rallied, and the best try of the match emanated from Arundell and Calum Gillon who rucked quality ball to serve Cooper, in turn spinning it wide to Kehoe who ran outside his would be tacklers in classic three quarters style to score in the corner.
This was the first of Kehoe's four tries in a match where Ilkley had to defend more than usual.
Lindsay and Kehoe were stalwarts in defence, soundly aided by wings Jordan and Sam Keogh.
This was a physical match ably dished out by Rhodes, Cockerham, Russell, Kellett and Finlay Gillon, against Wetherby's undeclared older players.
Full-back Hobson had a quiet time but should have been busier as Wetherby preferred to run from their own line rather than take wind advantage with kicks.
Mordy, at fly-half was better served in the second-half as a pack re-shuffle ensured better quality ball allowing the backs to attack.
All in all a sound win but Ilkley need to strengthen their first and second phase play as units rather than rely on individualistic efforts.
Ilkley U-11s 47, Wetherby U-11s 0
ILKLEY Under-11s chose this wonderful Spring-like Sunday morning to record their 16th victory of the season. Conditions were ideal for running rugby and Ilkley did not disappoint a large crowd of parents and supporters with a dazzling display of open rugby.
In the first few minutes Richard Evans opened the scoring for the home side after good work by both forwards and backs. This was Richard's first try for the club. Tries followed at regular intervals throughout the first-half from Oliver Dennis, Tom Craven, Matthew Worrall and George Hardy.
Wetherby defended brilliantly in the second-half but were unable to stop Ilkley adding to their try tally through Harry Fisher and a second try from Tom Crane.
Harry Fisher was awarded the Man-of-the-Match trophy for his splendid attacking performance.
Ilkley U-9s 2, Hull Ionians 7
Expectations were high when Ilkley travelled to Hull for their tour match with a full squad of 18 players.
Both sides made a positive start with Ilkley mauling well, leading to an early try from Edward Hardy. Determined tackling was the highlight of Ilkley's play, led by Joshua Waley (Man-of-the-Match) and Ben Mordey. However, Hull pressure paid off and they quickly scored two well earned tries.
Ilkley fought their way back in. Tom Hobson's mauling skills had Hull on the back foot and Jack Cheesewright picked the ball out of the scrum and weaved round static defenders to score superbly.
Hull, though, took full advantage of a lapse in the Ilkley defence and broke away to make the score 3-2 at half-time.
With a full change of team in the second-half Ilkley played well under pressure on their own line. Non-stop tackling kept Hull out for some time, Liam Bland and Nick Lockyer (Man-of-the-Match) leading the way.
Despite exceptional effort Hull managed to score twice. However, Robert Griffiths displayed some good passing skills and Edward Lund penetrated the Hull defence on a couple of occasions. The opposition, however, took advantage of a tiring Ilkley back line to score two more tries.
