Nicky Law is relieved that John Gregory is still in a job - for City's sake as well as the Derby manager.
Law (pictured) feared that his team could have suffered the backlash tomorrow if the axe had fallen on the Pride Park boss.
Gregory is feeling the heat from angry fans as Derby plunge down the table, having not won in six.
City travel to the Rams eyeing a sixth away win and Law said: "We're confident we can go there in a positive manner and get another result.
"Unfortunately there's talk of John Gregory being under pressure there which is never nice for anyone. I do feel sorry for John.
"And the last thing we wanted this week was for Derby to make any silly, rash decisions and get rid of their manager. We all know how other teams are often caught on the rebound when that happens."
Jamie Lawrence returns from suspension and Law, for once, has a selection dilemma on who to leave out.
He added: "It's a quandary that I've not been faced with much this season. But apart from Tom Kearney and Robert Molenaar, pretty much everyone is available.
"We've got a lot of players back now that haven't played a big part in the campaign. For people like David Wetherall and Andy Myers, their season is just beginning.
"I just wish the season could go on for a bit longer than 11 games."
Gregory is expecting a hard time against the side one point below.
He said: "They have a willingness and spirit in their team, and striker Ashley Ward epitomises what they are all about.
"He was a favourite as a player here and is a good pro who gets on with his job.
"Bradford have taken a few knocks along the way this season but have continued to dig in and work hard."
