A year seven pupil at Oakbank School designed a winning slogan and poster to encourage pupils to read, as part of the World Book Day celebrations.
The Keighley school competition invited students to promote reading to win two books of their choice.
Adam Smith-Feather, 12, won the competition with his colourful design and poem: "Reading is sometimes exciting, and develops our skills through reading. In school sometimes we never read but we have to -- It is good to read." Adam, whose favourite genres are comedy and horror, chose Thirteen Unpredictable Tales, by Paul Jennings, and The Knowledge, Riotous Robots, by Dr Mike Goldsmith.
Information manager at the school Karen King said they had been impressed by the standard of entries for the competition. She said: "We have been very pleased and Adam has come up with a good slogan.
"The poster will now be displayed in school and we hope that pupils will continue to enjoy reading and learn from it."
