A 54-year-old man who made a nuisance of himself after the breakdown of a relationship has been jailed for a total of three years and five months.
Bradford Crown Court heard how John Wilkinson made Patricia smith feel physically sick because of his unwanted attention.
After she ended the relationship a restraining order was made in 2000 prohibiting him from contacting Ms Smith or going within 100 metres of her home.
Prosecutor Mark Fletton said Wilkinson was twice seen outside the woman's home in July and August, once singing a song which he knew meant something to her.
Wilkinson, of Killinghall Road, Bradford Moor, Bradford, admitted breaching the restraining order during two separate incidents in July. He was found guilty of breaching the order on the final occasion after a trial.
Mitigating, Rob Mairs said Wilkinson committed the offences "through immaturity and drink". He told the court there was no malicious intent to cause Ms Smith harm, but Wilkinson showed a degree of ignorance about the effect his actions were having on her.
Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge Stephen Gullick told Wilkinson that Ms Smith needed protection.
Wilkinson - who has seven previous convictions for breaching restraining orders - was jailed for 30 months.
But he must first serve a consecutive sentence of 11 months from his last sentence. The restraining order will remain in force.
