Armthorpe Welfare 0, Liversedge 0: An uninspiring game at Armthopre Welfare produced a goalless draw that will suit the struggling Doncaster outfit more than high-flying Liversedge, who are aiming for a top eight finish in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.
Sedge's best spell came in the first 15 minutes, when they had the home side on the back foot but could not make the breakthrough.
James Nestor twice went close and Anthony Bingham, on loan from Bradford Park Avenue, was denied a debut goal when an incise pass from Nestor reared up off the turf and he could only shin it wide with just the keeper to beat.
Armthorpe's only effort of note was a Martin Turner shot in the 56th minute that went wide. "It was a poor display from my side and the worst game I have been involved in since I have been in management," said Sedge boss Eugene Lacy.
"We battered them for ten minutes and then dropped down to their level. They were desperate not to lose and were highly delighted to get a goalless draw. That's what we were up against but I expect a bit more inventiveness from a side I manage."
