The owner of a Bingley caf which was gutted by fire is to mark her come-back by serving a Christmas dinner - on Mother's Day.
Glenys Ratcliffe, who has run the popular Bunter's caf, in Myrtle Park, for almost 16 years, was distraught to see the building torched by arsonists in September last year.
There was £40,000 damage and much of the furniture, windows and fittings had to be replaced.
Now Mrs Ratcliffe is all set to reopen her doors on Saturday and will be trimming a Christmas tree, hanging up balloons and serving festive food the following Sunday.
"I had no option but to shut up shop as everything was a complete mess and the dining room was unusable," said Mrs Ratcliffe.
"Winter is usually a quieter time for me but I was especially upset because I missed serving the annual festive lunches to my regulars."
The fire was caused by vandals who pushed a lit taper through the letterbox.
Now Mrs Ratcliffe has had the front door replaced without a letterbox and her post is delivered to the Post Office in Bingley.
The building, next to the bowling green, has been refurbished and regulars will notice that the serving area has moved.
"Mother's Day is a popular day and I thought by serving festive lunches it would be a nice way to celebrate the two occasions," said Mrs Ratcliffe.
"I feel the caf has lost some of its charm but the main thing I'm looking forward to is seeing my customers again."
Councillor David Heseltine (Cons, Bingley) said the caf played an important role in the park.
"It's in a beautiful spot and it's great to see that the business will be up and running again," he said.
"No doubt people in Bingley, and from further afield, will show their support and help make the caf a success once again."
Mother's Day dinners can be booked on (01274) 565160.
The caf will be open from Wednesdays to Sundays, from 10am to 5pm.
Bookings can also be made for private functions.
