Bradford's pop idol Gareth Gates will make his movie debut next month - managing to get particularly cosy with one of his dream girls at the same time.
The singer - whose Comic Relief single Spirit In The Sky is top of the charts - has a cameo appearance in Seeing Double, the new film from pop group S Club.
But nominees for the forthcoming Oscars can sleep easy - Gareth only features in the last five minutes of the film, playing a clone of himself with just a couple of lines to say.
A spokesman for Gareth said that he enjoyed the chance of working alongside S Club when it was filmed late last year, but it was unlikely to signal a change of career for him.
"It was great fun, but he's not going to give up his day job just yet," she said.
In the film, Gareth is found by S Club in the laboratory of a mad scientist along with other cloned pop stars including Madonna, Michael Jackson and Elton John - all of which are played by look-alike actors.
Unlike the S Club song 'Never Had A Dream Come True', Gareth manages to realise one of his when he gets particularly close to S Club member Rachel Stevens in the final scene.
Gareth admitted on the Pop Idol show that she would be his dream girl and he even got to perform a duet with her at one of the after-show concerts.
"We can't give away what happens at the end, but let's just say Gareth was very happy with the scene," said a spokesman for the film.
Gareth's fans will get to see him on the big screen when the film has its UK release on April 11.
