Bradford Park Avenue 5, Blyth Spartans 1: A mere 188 spectators turned out for Avenue's best performance of the year as they hammered Blyth Spartans 5-1 in an enjoyably one-sided contest.
Trevor Storton's men took advantage of a pitch perfect for their passing game and turned on the style.
Attacking midfielder Simon Collins was unlucky not to come away with a hat-trick as Avenue took their home tally against relegation-threatened Blyth to 12 in two games.
It took Bradford just seven minutes to open their account with Andy Hayward cleverly flicking the ball on to Jason Maxwell.
The powerful striker barged his man out the way before bravely stretching to toe poke the ball past keeper Phil Naisbett for his first strike in five months.
And just six minutes later the lead was doubled.
Centre back James Stansfield, returning from an ankle injury to improve the side's air defences, nodded down a far post corner.
The ball struck the unlucky Paddy Little just in front of his own line and the own-goal was awarded when the ball nestled into the corner of the net.
Avenue keeper Chris Howe athletically tipped a Steven Stewart drive round the post to keep his side's momentum up just a moment later.
And eight minutes later it was three.
Danny Walsh, who seems to be finding his form once more on the right of midfield, took the ball off a defender before slipping it down the channel.
Hayward once again was the provider as his deep cross was met with a thunderous header from Simon Collins.
Avenue were let off the hook after Stansfield's agricultural challenge in the box on Dave McMahon went unpunished when a penalty looked the likely outcome.
On the stroke of half-time Maxwell blasted one over bar, one of many opportunities that had they been taken would have led to double figures for Avenue.
After the break, things continued in a similar vein with Collins striking again.
Richard Tracey slipped the ball through to Hayward and the club's top scorer powered behind the Spartans defence before sliding it across the face of goal for Collins to fire home.
The former midfielder was denied a hat-trick when his rising drive was pushed on to the post by the impressive Naisbett.
Maxwell flashed one across the face of goal and Hayward wasted a one-on-one before Blyth pulled one back.
Howe dallied for far too long in the Avenue goalmouth and his clearance hit Gareth Williams and spun into the corner of the net.
But just a minute later Avenue made it 5-1 with another own goal.
Andy Wright broke down the left and his low cross was touched through the keeper's legs by Ian Dixon.
