Andy Gray has missed out on the Scotland squad for their Euro 2004 clashes against Iceland and Lithuania.
City's top scorer (pictured), who netted for Scotland Future in Turkey last month, was not named in the 18-man squad for the two group games. Although Berti Vogts may add more players after the weekend before the squad meet up on Monday night.
But the Bantams will have one first-team regular on international duty. Jamie Lawrence been called up by Jamaica for their Gold Cup qualifiers with St Lucia, Haiti and Martinique.
Gray scored his 13th goal of the season in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday and many felt that could have secured his chance. But Vogts, who watched Gray have a quiet game against Leicester a fortnight ago, has opted for Wolves' in-form Kenny Miller.
Lawrence, who is due to meet up with Jamaica on Sunday, felt Gray deserved his chance.
He said: "Andy is scoring goals all the time. I think he is now a better centre forward than he is right-winger.
"It would be good for the club if they had two internationals in the team."
Gray's exclusion does mean he will be able to play for City at Norwich on March 29, a game that is definitely on despite clashing with the international programme.
Norwich will be without three players away with Northern Ireland - Paul McVeigh, Phil Mulryne and David Healey. But they cannot call off the match because Healey, on loan at Carrow Road for the rest of the season, is classed as a Preston player.
