IN the County Amateur League Premier Division the heat in the relegation battle has been turned up in the last few weeks with both Otley Town and Storthes Hall winning games.
Only one team can be relegated this season as Keighley Phoenix resigned from the league earlier in the season.
On Saturday Otley Town travel to Golcar United then the following week travel to fellow strugglers Storthes Hall. Both games will kick-off at 2.30pm.
Both Otley Town and Storthes Hall still have to travel to bottom placed Littletown.
On Saturday Golcar got the better of Campion by 1-0 while Premier Division leaders Brighouse Town made hard work of beating bottom club Littletown 2-0.
It was two late goals from former Guiseley AFC youth team player Shaun Walsh that gave Brighouse the three points to leave Littletown struggling at the foot of the table.
Storthes Hall, with games in hand, had a good 3-1 win over Hemsworth MW to ease their relegation worries.
Otley Town Reserves 7, Sherwood 2>
This second round league cup tie ended in an easy victory for Otley Town Reserves, an early goal from Wagstaffe settling the team down.
Three attacks later and it was 3-0 with Alderson and then Gilmartin rounding off two good moves.
The scoreline flattered Town as Sherwood created a couple of good chances in this period and they earned themselves a penalty when Town's 'keeper tripped the advancing centre-froward.
This was duly converted to make the half-time score 3-1.
The second-half developed into a romp for Town, killing the game in the early minutes with goals from Alderson and Wagstaffe.
The same two players went on to complete their hat-tricks but Sherwood kept going to the end and gained a consolation near the end of the game.
l On Saturday the Reserves have a re-arranged fixture. Players to contact Peter Nithsdale.
The A team manager is trying to arrange a friendly game, as the next game is not until the last Saturday of the month.
