Ashley Ward may have kicked his last ball of the season after cracking a rib against Sheffield Wednesday.
Ward is out for at least a month with the injury suffered in a clash with Dean Smith early in the second half.
Teenager Danny Forrest will start alongside Andy Gray tomorrow when City host play-off hopefuls Reading.
Bantams boss Nicky Law said: "It's a big blow for Ashley. I thought his partnership with Andy Gray was looking very good.
"But as one door closes, another one opens and it's young Danny's opportunity now. He's done well so far and this is a chance for him."
"We also have Danny Cadamarteri knocking on the door but he hasn't trained for a bit since the Sheffield Wednesday reserve game because of his knee so we've got to be careful.
"With Ashley Ward out for a month at least, we're going to need that cover for the two strikers so we'll have to treat Danny with kid gloves."
