A Steeton couple returned to where they first met to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
Denis and Joan Bedford - of Bobbin Mill Court - celebrated 50 years of marriage last Friday and were treated to an evening at the Alhambra Theatre and dinner on Saturday with their family.
The pair first met while dancing at the former New Victoria Theatre, Bradford. With the theatre now only a memory, they instead chose to see a performance of the King and I at the neighbouring Alhambra.
Denis, 76, and Joan, 75, were married at St John's Church, Greengates, Bradford, on March 14, 1953. They used to live in Hollingwood Lane, Great Horton, Bradford, and they both worked in the city's textile trade - Denis was a harness worker at Dracups and Joan a sewer at Dracups, and also a cutter at Riddella.
They have three sons, Michael, Kevin and David, and seven grandchildren. The three sons all have their own businesses and have moved away to different parts of Yorkshire.
Just over ten years ago the couple moved to Steeton after one of their sons came to the village.
