Adventure seekers at Greenhead High School had a week to remember when they took part in an outward bound trip to the Lake District.
A group of 21 year eight students from the Utley school enjoyed a host of outdoor pursuits during their stay in Ambleside.
The active youngsters tried their hand at canoeing, hill walking, orienteering, gorge scrambling and even went on a night hike.
They were also taken on a cinema trip and enjoyed games and quizzes back at the youth hostel.
Senior teacher Marilyn Boyd said: "We decided to take a group of students who we felt had been good ambassadors for the school and themselves.
"The students had a brilliant time and the youth hostel has commented on their exemplary behaviour.
"It has been so successful that we are going to bid for community money so that year eight students in future years can experience the same.
"It was excellent to get away and make new friends," said 13-year-old Thomas Barlow.
Bojlul Ali, 12, said: "It is one of the best places I have been to and the team activities brought everyone together."
The students were joined by schools crime reduction officer PC Emma Harrison, schools liaison officer PC Glyn Butterworth, youth project worker Garry Stevens, Greenhead's Duke of Edinburgh Awards co-ordinator Lesley Normanton and three outdoor activity instructors from Bradford council.
The trip was funded with cash from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and Greenhead's Most Able Pupils fund.
A certificate presentation will be made to the pupils in the near future.
