Turin Brakes -- Leeds University
With the relentless rise of nu-metal and a new generation of Led Zeppelin fans cranking out the power chords it's incredible that Turin Brakes still make their voices heard.
But to miss quote a balding, under-fire Tory leader, never underestimate the determination of a quiet band.
Because what Turin Brakes lack in volume, they more than make up for when it comes to writing top songs that park themselves in your brain.
And winning over the crowd at Leeds University is something that Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian do with ease.
The acoustic duo play songs from their current album Ether Songs and a few old favourites from The Optimist.
And there are even occasions when they break free, although not too free, from their traditional folk-pop harmonies into something a little more spaced out.
Above all else Turin Brakes prove that sometimes you don't need to shout to he heard.
