I'M SURE many Keighley people will have been shocked by the sudden death of local police officer Hughie Brady.

He played amateur rugby league with Worth Village and Keighley Star, and also playd a couple of times for the A team down at Keighley Rugby League Club.

We were close friends, and had been all the way through school. He was a local lad who loved Keighley -- and was a top bloke.

My thoughts are with his wife Christine and children Simon, Joe, Aaron and Megan at this sad time.

God bless you mate.

There is controversey in the changing rooms at the moment. Jason Ramshaw is unhappy that the Keighley News reported him as running 30m for his try against London Skolars -- he rekons it was more like 50 metres.

One of the lads said the last time anybody heard of Rammy running 50 metres it was to be first in the queue at a local beauty salon, when they were giving away half price sessions on the sunbeds.

I've asked Mossy to examine the video evidence and settle the argument.

Fancy watching a midweek game? If the answer is yes then get down to Cougar Park next Wednesday evening when our Academy will be having a run out against Cowling Harlequin.

The 'Mighty Quin' are coached by former Bradford player Johnny Sharky and run by Cougar sponsors John and Maggie Edwards.

I've heard rumours that John is going to throw a few 'ringers' into his side.

Two can play at that game, and we might just have the odd senior player lined up, purely to make up the numbers you understand, John.

It sounds like it could be an interesting night with tyhe game kicking off at 7.30.

Don't be late, you might miss the fireworks!
