Bishop Auckland 1, Guiseley 1: A comic moment in front of goal was all Bishop Auckland had to offer against a well-drilled Guiseley side but it earned the north-easteners a share of the spoils from this UniBond Division One clash.
Guiseley had created the better openings, enjoyed most of the possession and looked set for a deserved victory after finally unlocking the home defence just after the hour.
Former Bantams midfielder Mark Stuart put Guiseley in front with a 20-yard right-foot shot that whistled into the top corner in the 62nd minute.
Striker Alex Nesovic came within an ace of sealing a maximum for the visitors just seven minutes later when his header struck the post but then spun to safety.
The equaliser came 15 minutes from time following a weak back pass. Keeper John Lamb raced out to get a good contact on his attempted clearance but it hit the back of Bishop's retreating attacker Neil Maddison and rebounded into the unguarded net.
"We should have had more from the game - I thought we did enough to have won it," lamented Guiseley manager Neil Parsley.
"We just failed to get the second goal that would have seen us through comfortably but there is not a lot for us to worry about after a performance like that."
