City will give Portsmouth just over 7,000 tickets for the final game of the season.
The club have handed over the upper tier of the Sunwin Stand to the Division One leaders for the match on Sunday, May 4. They will get the usual allocation for visitors of the Bradford End as well as blocks E to G on Midland Road.
City made the decision after weekend talks with the police. It is the first time visiting fans have been given use of the top section of the Sunwin.
Managing director Shaun Harvey said: "The club are happy that this decision is in the best interests of maintaining segregation and can be managed effectively."
City will soften the blow for the 320 season-ticket holders who will have to move by allowing them to bring a guest for free. They are asked to give in voucher No23 as soon as possible at the ticket office.
