FIVE-year-old Jack Houlden is over the moon after his picture of his mum won first prize in a Mother's Day competition.

Now the Guiseley Infant School pupil's picture will go out with every bouquet of flowers sent out on Sunday by Guiseley florist, Flowers by Karen.

Jack has also won a book token and all 40 children who took part will be given a bunch of daffodils tomorrow to take home for their own mums.

Karen Lamb, of Flowers by Karen in Oxford Street, said the competition had been aimed at Year One - five and six year olds.

"We asked them to draw a picture of their mummy for a Mother's Day card. We had the winning one scanned and reduced down and copies of it are going out with all our Mother's Day gifts."

She added that Jack's picture of his mum was 'lovely'.

"She has this brown face with loads of yellow hair, a big, egg-shaped body, spiky hands and pencil-thin legs. His mum and dad were dead proud."

Book tokens will also be given to all the classes in the school and all 40 children from Year One will be going home tomorrow with bunches of daffodils.
