The Yorkshire Dales will be easier to reach by public transport from Keighley from this Sunday, with the launch of a Spring Dales bus services.

These include a Sunday bus from Keighley to Ribblehead, Hawes, Leyburn and Richmond, and a Sunday bus from Keighley to Malham.

Bus service 807 will run from Keighley via Settle and Horton in Ribblesdale to Ribble-head. The bus then continues via Hawes, Aysgarth and Leyburn to Richmond. It leaves Keighley Bus Station at 9.15am every Sunday and Bank Holiday until the end of October. The return service from Richmond is at 5pm and from Hawes at 6.04pm.

But the Dales service has been criticised by some travellers who say they will not be able to use it because the first buses arrive in Keighley from other areas at 9.15am - the same time as the 807 leaves.

Existing bus service 804 from Keighley to Malham will now operate on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays for the summer, starting on Sunday. The Arriva Yorkshire bus leaves Keighley at 9.35am, returning from the Buck Inn in Malham at 4.45pm.

The popular Sunday service from Keighley to Grassington will still continue. Buses on service 67A leave Keighley bus station every Sunday at 9.45am, then every hour until 3.45pm.

They return from Grassington National Park Centre at 10.55am, then every hour until 4.55pm. The 10.45am service from Keighley connects at Grassington with service 800 to Kettlewell, Buckden and Hawes.

A Metro timetable covering all Dales bus services is available now from Keighley Bus Station.
