A BRADLEY interior designer has become hot property for the media this week.

Gill Robinson's home and work featured on Yorkshire Television's "Home" programme last Thursday.

And her 19th century cottage and barn conversion appears in this month's Period Living and Traditional Homes.

Gill has used reclaimed timber, sumptuous fabrics and imaginative attention to detail to create a Georgian traditional country style home.

It took around three years for her to redesign and transform the house into its picture-perfect splendour.

The television programme also featured her work on a bed and breakfast and holiday cottage near Brimham Rocks.

Gill transformed the buildings, belonging to Eileen Payne, to create a cosy home-from-home feel which guests would remember.

"My preference is for traditional country house style, but that is only my preference. My job is to listen to what the client wants and then try and put it into practice," she said.

Gill has worked in the area for the past five years but has been practising her design skills for around 20 years.

She has built up a client base through her former shop on Sackville Street, Skipton, and the programme sparked immediate publicity - a phone call came within 10 minutes of it being broadcast asking her to source some of the featured blinds!

Her work, which includes modern, minimalist and industrial designs, can also be seen at the Tulsi restaurant in Foulridge, the Clarke Foley Centre's tea-rooms in Ilkley and Grassington Lodge guesthouse.
