Heading off for pastures new this week is Branshaw Golf Club's assistant professional Simon Jowitt.

Simon, 21, from Silsden, has taken up a new position as second assistant at Moor Allerton Golf Club in Leeds after five years at Branshaw.

"I have enjoyed every minute of my time at Branshaw, and I would like to thank the members, the club council and of course professional Mark Tyler for all their help and support," said Simon.

Simon started as assistant pro at Branshaw soon after leaving South Craven School at Cross Hills. At the time he played off 13 handicap, but quickly achieved the level required to train as a PGA professional. He hopes to qualify as a PGA pro with his final exams in October.
